The design is an elongated saltire made of hand engraved herring bone elements

Size 9 3/4 with bold twist motif 2/3 its circumference

Iconic form rarely found undamaged as here

The ring was made as a wedding ring for the small finger and was impressed in compliance with Charlemangne’s 782 Capitulatio de partibus Saxoniae which prescribed laws for Saxons which included being baptized
